The practice of Eleye Boerenkamps (b. 1994, The Netherlands) is often referred to as autobiographic, direct, uncanny and personal. In drawings, videos, sculptures and photographs she reflects on her social relationships, family history and love life. Her sculptures move from monumental cut-out photo prints of bodyparts that are free standing in the space to bad made wooden constructions that carry a memory or a statement. Her visual language is characterized by cheap everyday materials like wood, styrofoam and cardboard that become the support of memories, people, statements or everyday situations. Furthermore she works with body casts from loved ones and herself, objects from her parents house, her father’s vocabulary, print screens on her mobile phone and disposable packaging materials.
