The practice of Eleye Boerenkamps (b. 1994, The Netherlands) is often referred to as autobiographic, direct, uncanny and personal. In her work relationships and relational situations are converted in media such as drawings, videos, sculptures and prints in which the everyday, friendships, family history and her love life are reflected. The sculptural works move from monumental cut-out photo prints to bad made wooden constructions or wall assemblies called wallpieces that carry a memory or statement. The visual language is built from everyday domestic materials like wood, styrofoam and cardboard that become supports of lived moments. Every work is generated from this personal archive of notes, pictures, videos and collected objects. Recent works include body casts from loved ones and herself, objects from her parents house and replica’s, disposable packaging materials and print screens from her mobile phone or embody her father’s vocabulary.
