The practice of Eleye Boerenkamps (b. 1994, The Netherlands) is often referred to as autobiographic, direct and uncanny. In her works her personal history, relationships and observations from everyday reality are reflected into media such as drawings, videos, sculptures and prints. Her visual language is built from familiar domestic materials like wood, styrofoam and cardboard that become the carriers of lived through moments. Each work is generated from her personal archive of notes, pictures, videos and collected objects. Recent works are improvised constructions and assemblies that carry a memory or thought, body casts from loved ones and herself, objects from her parents house and replica’s, disposable packaging materials, print screens from her mobile phone and wooden signs that carry her father’s swear words.
